I was born into Catholicism. As a child I went to the Catholic church faithfully. I was baptized, made my first Holy
Communion, then confirmation, and even was given another name. Then in 1964 we moved to California. My entire family left the Catholic
religion and got into Mormonism. I got baptized in 1985 into the Mormon religion, but I felt I was still missing something. Finally,
I met a sister in the Lord and she introduced me to the local church. When I began coming to meetings in the local church, I knew
I was finally in the right place. I attended the meetings for six months.
Unfortunately, after meeting for this short period of time
I went back to my old way of living. Then I was really miserable, but the believers in the local church kept caring for me and never
gave up on me. Finally I said to myself, is this what life really is? I got depressed; I didn’t care about anything anymore. The only
thing that kept me going was my child. I said, “I cannot leave my baby. God gave him to me and I have got to take care of him.” If
it hadn’t been for my kids, I don’t think I’d be here. With Christ I can take care of my kids and love them.
In the church, I also
try my best to care for other believers. Without Christ we are nothing, but with Christ we can move mountains. In the church we are
all needed. I love all the believers of the local church and will stand by them, as they stood by me and my family. Thanks to the
Almighty God for everything He has done for us and for forgiving us when we didn’t even deserve it.
